BLAH

Argh...I hate my job. Well, it's not like I hate it hate it...I just no longer want to work there. I mean I love doing sales. I love the challenge of making the sale and building it but I just don't like where I work. I work hard to do my best and exceed the goals given me but I don't feel appreciated for the work that I do. I am successful at my job there is no doubt about that but I don't feel the numbers I put out are good enough. I also don't feel the pay I get is equivalent to the work and effort I put into attaining my goals and numbers. I just feel like the management I am under is more negative than positive and when one does attain their goals it's not congratulations, it's you can do more. Boo! I hate that. I work better with positive reinforcement and pats on the back. I'm not saying I need it all the time but the occasional "good job" would be greatly appreciated and it would only encourage me to work harder and push myself to excel.

Blah.

I hate my job. But the funny thing is no one at work would ever guess that unless I actually talk to you and am friends with you. I'm good at putting on a believable front. But...

I hate my job.

For some reason I think you would be an excellent entrepreneur. Have you thought about that route? There is a string of cute boutique type shops in my neighborhood (toys, clothing, italian cookware, ice cream parlor...) and the owners are very hands on and great with their employees. I think you can totally do it. There are amazing loans available for women, especially beautiful brown women!!!
OH! And this popped into my head the other night while I was running errands. My brain said, "ask Nila if she's participating in a local performance group?" Are you auditioning for plays and musicals?
Random thought, I know.

those are all great ideas, C. i agree, occasional pats on the back are so refreshing but hard to come by. if you really can't stand your job, it's time for a change! aren't you going to move soon?
