Once again...

So, it's been quite some time since I have actually been on here and posted something to my blog and now that I have my new laptop that works so nicely anywhere I am I figure I could start blogging again. I'm not super savvy at this whole blogging bit but I figure this is a nice outlet for me to voice my thoughts and everything.

As you can see from my main picture I have done long awaited traveling abroad. That picture above is Venice, Italy at dusk...beautiful right. I had just left the Jewish district there and was about to walk across one of the main stone bridges there when I took notice of the b
urning sky...it overflowed with colors of orange, pink, purple and was completely br
eathtaking, as you can tell from the
photo I took. I never expected the picture to come out the way it did but I'm so glad it did. It was a gorgeous shot and one of my last moments in that magical city on the water. I loved it there and the people who lived and worked there were so friendly and nice. I always felt safe. When I got the opportunity to wander the city by myself I jumped at it. I weaved in and out of the different alleyways and crossed the numerous bridges.
I wandered through random art galleries and grabbed a gelato to cool me down during my afternoon meanderings.
If you ever get the opportunity to visit Venice, take it, you will not regret it.

As for the other places I visited on my visit to the Mediterranean it was Turkey, Croatia, and Greece. All beautiful places with memorable views and people. Surprisingly, I loved Croatia more than I thought I would. I suppose when I thought of Croatia in the past I thought of war torn streets and death, but I was completely wrong to think of it like that. Croatia is a beautiful country with lush green fields and warm welcoming people. It came in second to Santorini, Greece.

Santorini, Greece was ethereal and like a living moving se
t that you never wanted to leave and couldn't believe that people actually got to live there. A top these rugged rocks was a city of white and it's beauty was beyond anything you could describe. Sure I had seen pictures and movies where the city was its backdrop, but it does no justice to it. Not until you actually see the beautiful white buildings with their Aegean blue roof tops for yourself can you truly appreciate the beaut
y of the city. Not only was the city gorgeous but their food was excellent too. I could have eaten 10 gyros and not had enough, sadly I only ate one but man was it good!
But let me not forget Corfu, Greece.

Despite the rain it was a beautiful part of Greece too. I rented a scooter to get around the little island and th
at made it the best tour I had
. Su
re, I didn't learn all the great historical asp
ects of the city but I sure had fun getting around on the island on a scooter. Getting yelled and cursed out
by locals and nearly getting hit by one of them too. Exhilarating and scary all at the same
time. Needless to say I learned real quick how to ride one, even though I told the lady we were renting the scooter from I had driven one several times before...I saved 5 euros with that lie. Hahaha.

Turkey was an experience all its self too. Belly dancer and overly aggressive sales people made Turkey memorable that's for sure. The country side was beautiful and to have walked where Jesus Christ himself
walked was pretty amazing; a bit hard to really wrap my head around that concept but none the less, very cool. Not to mention our Turkish tour guide was quite the hoot...I got a euros worth of a lap dance from him...note to self, never do that again.

Overall, I fell in Europe and can't wait to visit again. There are so many other places I want to visit over there. My pla
n was to go over there this coming Spring/Summer but alas it seems my plans have changed. It seems that Australia and New Zealand are beckoning my name and who am I to deny these two great countries my presence?! I'll be sure to keep you posted on my plans but so far it looks like early August I will be chilling in Australia, soaking up some Sydney sun!
