In Case You Didn't Know...

I moved. Hahaha. I moved to Utah though, not San Diego :( but I'm loving being back in Utah. I have a great job and I actually have friends to hang out with. It's been a long time since I've had a legitimate social life and it's nice to be back in the swing of things.

Since moving back to Utah, it's been a month now...I have decided that I will put off marriage a bit longer. Not that it's been beating down my door or anything (LOL!) because it hasn't! However, after giving it a lot of thought I've decided that 35 should be a good age to get hitched. By then I'll have my Range Rover and I'll have had a chance to travel a bit more because it seems that when you get married your life ends on some levels. Like you have to ask your husband for permission to do things, to buy things, to go places...and well I'm not too keen on that aspect of things.

However, don't get me wrong I know there are great things about marriage...like umm...well sex. LOL! And of course with that comes kids, which is another plus. Also you have your eternal companion, which must be nice to know that they exist and want to be with you for the eternities too. You also have 2 incomes, well in some cases you have 2 incomes, which means you can buy and do more, like travel to Fiji or New Zealand or Japan. :) And did I mention when you get married you get to do the "freak" dance whenever you please...yeah that's definitely a high light...LOL!!! But I figure I've waited this long a few more years won't hurt and there is a lot of different places I want to go before I need to ask for my allowance from my "husband"...hahahaha.

Yeah, so here is to be single and enjoying life to the fullest but of course keeping my door open; thought my door has never been closed to marriage it's just marriage has been "closed" to me. Sigh---sadness :( LOL...Oh well...London here I come-March 2011 perhaps I can find me a British man who can handle me, my personality and humor!!

I'm glad you posted!

I was wondering how things are going for you in UT. Glad you are able to find work and have some fun!

As for marriage: I think I needed to get married. I have learned far more and developed as an individual much faster and with greater depth that if I were not to settle down and get married.

As for "asking permission" from my husband, I've never had to do that, per se. We do consult with each other ("hey, do we have room in our budget for this?", "will you be okay alone with the kids while I go and do this", etc. etc.).

Everyone has lessons to learn in life, and for some those lessons are best learned in certain situations. Our Stake Pres. said: "For some, the trial in life is being single. For some, it is being married. For some it is having no children. For some, it is having children."

Come what may and love it!!!

Good advice Crys!!! That's why I love you...you're right...I suppose I just need to "be"...which is rather challenging at times, although sometimes I fear I get too comfortable with my current situation of singledom...hahaha.

I guess to clarify: I needed to get married because I was TOO comfortable enjoying my single self, but I wasn't learning the life lessons I needed to.LOL
