On the search for some BOOKS!

BOOKS! I adore books. From books we can gain knowledge, enlightenment, entertainment, hope, inspiration, and the list goes on. Here is a small sample of just a few of my books...some I love, some are okay and some I can read over and over and over and never get tired of it.

BOOKS! I just can't get enough of them, but I have recently hit a slump in my book consumption. I'm not sure what to read out there. I try to be selective on what I read because my ultimate goal is to create a huge library for my future posterity one day and I don't want anything in my collection that would not be fit for them to read, so I tend to stear clear of adult fiction, meaning Danielle Steele and that sort of rubish. Now, books that inspire and cause one to think are cool with me, because if we never question we can never find answers. But if anyone out there has any suggestions on some great books I can read, series are welcomed, let me know because my brain is in need of some good old fashioned literature!!

Yeah I have read those...I actually read all three books in under 4 days...needless to say I kind of liked them...but they definitely are those books that you're slightly embarassed to say you like them because they have some mad cheesey parts...MAD cheesey parts...if you catch my drift...

I picked up "Friday Night Knitting Club" @ the airport last trip. I can't say I've finished it yet, but I really liked it and was immediated entertained, also, I didn't feel so "lame" about my crocheting addiction:)

I really think you should read the Namesake.

excellent choices! i've read a few of the books you have and i think we have more-or-less the same taste in our reading material. most importantly, we say no to generic chick "lit" like the Shopaholics series! *gag* lol

but yes, i've also picked up the Twilight series. haven't read them yet but i plan to and i'd probably feel guilty doing so but i'll read them all anyway!

i like to read a lot of multi-cultural literature, as well. if you don't mind romance and a bit of surrealism (thrown in with lots of recipes and Mexican history), one of my faves is "Like Water for Chocolate" by Laura Esquivel. i can read it over and over again!
